Tessa AI
Tessa, the faculty locator, is a script-based programmed chatbot wherein specific predefined codes are typed based on which the interaction happens. It helps the students to locate faculty members at a university campus.

Considering an institute as vast as Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Bangalore, where a wide variety of faculty exists on the campus, finding a particular faculty on different floors and classrooms is an arduous task.
To focus on this problem, which students face every day, a human-like chatbot assistant will help students, visitors, and other staff at Srishti to connect easily with the faculty. In addition, it will interact with the users to guide them to fix urgent appointments. This shall save the user’s time by eliminating the hassle of locating faculty on different floors.
Understanding the need
How does it work?
At the start of a semester, the timetable for every faculty can be set and fed into Tessa's database. If there are any changes in the schedule, the faculty can update it directly on Tessa.
When the user clicks on the device, Tessa introduces herself as the faculty locator and asks for the user's name. Post that, she greets the user. The user can search the availability of a faculty in two ways:
By directly calling out the faculty name
Search by specialization or interests
Tessa shows the related results with a short description of the faculty and asks the user to confirm a name. After receiving the response, it will allow the user to schedule an appointment. The user can choose between two predefined options "today" or "select a date."
Based on data stored in Tessa's repository, the results are displayed. It will check the faculty's location and availability. Further, it will ask the user to confirm the appointment. Tessa will ask the user to feed their email id and contact to confirm the appointment.
The faculty will receive a notification from Tessa on the appointment with the necessary details. Faculty can confirm, reschedule or reject the appointment.
